6-Day Wood & Bamboo Artisanal Workshop Empowers Rural Youth and Artisans

From 21st to 26th July 2025, NENTERPRISE successfully organized a 6-day Wood & Bamboo Artisanal Workshop at the NEN Resource Centre, Chizami. The workshop aimed to enhance the skills of rural youth and artisans, focusing on sustainable livelihoods, productive living, and fostering harmony within the community. 

We were honoured to have Khrolo Naro, Proprietor of Khrolo Creative Crafts, contribute his expertise during the workshop. With his deep knowledge of traditional wood and bamboo craftsmanship, Khrolo Naro provided valuable guidance to participants, helping bridge indigenous skills with innovative product design.

Participants received hands-on training in crafting with eco-friendly materials such as wood and bamboo—resources that are abundant, renewable, and culturally rooted in local traditions. The sessions equipped them with practical skills, tools, and techniques while introducing innovative product designs that open up opportunities for income generation.

This initiative not only empowered individuals with artisanal knowledge but also emphasized the importance of sustainable practices, cultural preservation, and creative self-reliance.
