Our Model

At Chizami Weaves, our approach is unique as we adopt a decentralized production model that puts our artisans first. Our weavers work from the comfort and familiarity of their own homes, giving them the flexibility to set their own pace and manage their monthly production goals. This allows them to balance their weaving craft with farming and other domestic and social responsibilities.

While we provide training, raw materials, and expert design guidelines, we believe in the creative spirit of our artisans. We co-create products with the weavers, valuing their skills and expertise. They have the autonomy to decide the motifs and products to weave, to ensure that they maintain creative freedom and agency over their craft.
