Weaving Her stories of Chizami Women
Love is strength, love is sharing, love is justice, love is voice, love is healing, love is courage, love is dignity. These are the values that inspired 'Kekhro Laphe', a wraparound skirt woven by the women of Chizami, a Naga village in Nagaland. The name, which means 'Love skirt' in Khezha dialect was given by Ms. Seno Tsuhah, A women's' rights activist and teacher. 'Kekhro Laphe' celebrates the lives of six brave women who fought for their rights, their families, their communities, their land, and their world, against oppression, colonization, and violence. It is a symbol of their love and resilience.
